The Lansford Historical Society reorganized, unanimously electing Bill Harleman as its president Wednesday night.
Other officers include Bruce Markovich, vice president, Dale Freudenberger, secretary, and Michael Cannon, treasurer.
The society hopes to complete work on the former Lansford Welsh Church in time for the 175th anniversary of the historic structure next year.
To date, the society expended more than $40,000 on structural repairs and replacement of the roof, and hopes to have the ceiling replaced this summer for another $7,500.
The society needs to raise an additional $16,000 to repair the original windows, which were damaged by fire in 2015. The Welsh Church project has been severely impacted by the society’s budget, but the group did not take on the project to see the church razed and turned into an empty lot, members said.
