Schuylkill County officials are getting ready for Memorial Day.

Wednesday morning, the county commissioners voted to approve an agreement with National Flag and Display Co., Metro Flag, for 2024 for the purchase of 275 gross of flags for $32,868.

The 39,600 flags, which cost 83 cents each, will be used to decorate the graves of deceased Schuylkill County veterans on Memorial Day.

The flags, which cost the same as last year, are expected to arrive by the third week of April, well in time for Memorial Day. Local organizations will place the flags on the graves.
