Lehighton Borough Council approved the following last week:

• Payment of $71,691 to H&P Construction for the Senior Center roof replacement.

• Payment No. 3 for Livengood Excavating in the amount of $62,862 for the Waterfront Pedestrian project.

• Will advertise for Requests for Proposals for park cameras. The borough received a $93,000 grant to be used for a surveillance system in the parks.

• A request from the Lehighton Lioness Club to use the Grove for a carnival tentatively scheduled for May 3-5.

• Agreed to refer a conditional use application for 115 S. Fourth St. to the borough’s planning commission.

• Adopted the revised list of sewer enforcement officers of System Design Engineers.

• The borough’s Light & Power Department to hang the Hometown Heroes Banners.

• Awarded the 2023 Storefront Christmas Light Contest winners to: Violent Venus Tattoo Studio; Lehighton Boys and Girls Band; Home Comfort Solutions; The Redco Group; and Blended Bakery.

• Agreed to set the borough treasury bond, secretary bond, and assistant treasurer bond, all at $1 million.

• Agreed to spend $50 for an ad in the Carbon County Hall of Fame program book.
