Weissport Borough Council voted to purchase a trash pump and hoses to help in clearing flood waters from the borough, especially in front of Chantilly’s at the corner of Bridge and White Streets.
Clogged or broken drain pipes cause water to accumulate at that intersection. The pumps will help clear out flood waters until a fix can be done to the pipes.
The new equipment should cost no more than $500 and will be used in other areas of the borough in the event of flooding.
“It’s not a permanent fix,” Council President Thomas Ketchledge said at a previous meeting. “It’s just a fix to alleviate the water problem until we can figure a permanent solution.”
Also, James Nanovic was appointed the Zoning Board solicitor.
