Palmerton Borough Council took the following action last week:

• Reappointed Jason Behler as the borough’s fire chief, and Greg Vlossak as assistant fire chief.

• Acknowledged Keystone Consulting Engineers as the borough’s water engineer, and Entech Engineering as the borough’s sewer engineer.

• Appointed attorney Jim Nanovic as the borough’s alternate solicitor only for in the event its current solicitor is unable to represent the borough.

• Appointed Barry Scherer to fill a vacant seat on the planning commission.

• Appointed Autumn Canfield and Greg Vlossak to the PA. Municipal Fire Department Support Team board of directors.

• Appointed Canfield and Vlossak as Fire Support Team Members.

• Approved the Palmerton Municipal Fire Company membership. Councilwoman Holly Hausman-Sell abstained.

• Adopted a resolution for volunteer tax credit for the Bowmanstown Fire Company members.

• Approved the renewal of the snowplow cooperation agreement with Lower Towamensing Township.

• Approved the volunteer tax credit eligibility list.

• Approved the 2023 per capita tax exoneration list of $190.

• Approved the appointment of a tax collector for the balance of 2023 per capita taxes.

• Approved the first reading of an ordinance amending vehicles and traffic - handicapped parking requests.
