Franklin Township Supervisors
Franklin Township Supervisors took the following action on Tuesday:
• Released the Franklin Heights Complex LLC Letter of Credit in the amount of $158,864. In November 2022, supervisors granted conditional final plan approval to the Franklin Heights Complex Land Development & Stormwater Management Plan, contingent on the letter of credit and developer agreement.
• Agreed to send a letter notifying an unnamed employee he is receiving a 30-day suspension without pay. The suspension went into effect as of Jan. 3. The employee is a member of the road crew.
• Hired Jacob Tetzlaff as a full-time road crew/garbage crew employee at the rate of $17 an hour.
• Reappointed David Thomas as a zoning hearing board member for a three-year term.
• Included the wages for roadmaster, CDL rate and laborer rate for the equipment rental fees (for in-kind services used when completing dirt and gravel road project and grants for baseball, etc., roadmaster, $28.11, CDL rate, $18, and laborer, $16 per hour.
• Agreed to advertise bids for 10,000 gallons of low sulfur diesel fuel and 6,000 gallons of heating oil (more or less), escalator clause in effect, with bids to be opened at the Feb. 20 township meeting.
• Agreed to advertise bids for 10,000 gallons (more or less) of 87 Octane No/Lead Gasoline, at-the-pump price on Feb. 16, escalator clause in effect, with bids to be opened at the Feb. 20 township meeting.
• Announced that Christmas trees can be disposed of at the Phifer’s Ice Dam Park (Penn Street entrance), for Franklin Township residents only until Jan. 31.
• Announced a garbage collection change to move the Feb. 19 (Presidents Day) collection to be picked up on Feb. 20.
• Reminded residents that the township is still selling hoagie tickets from Cindy’s Deli until March 1.
