Schuylkill has auditor opening

The Schuylkill Township’s board of auditors was supposed to meet to reorganize Tuesday morning, but the meeting was postponed because the supervisors could not fill the board of auditors Monday night.

The supervisors could not accept the resignation of Jennifer Fayash, supervisor Charles Fayash’s wife, because there was not a second.

Attorney Ashley Securda, subbing for regular solicitor Joe Baranko, said despite the fact Jennifer Fayash was resigning from the board, her husband could not move to accept the resignation.

The next supervisor meeting will be Jan. 17, the earliest time action can be taken and the auditors can meet.

Instead of having regular meetings the first Monday of each month and work sessions the third Wednesday, they voted to make them all meetings.

The township is also getting a new website.

The supervisors voted to move the township website to the Pennsylvania State Association of Township Supervisors.

Supervisor Gary Feathers said the one-time $200 cost and $240 annual fee will be cheaper and give the township more flexibility in posting information.
