Lehighton Borough Council took the following action last week:

• Tabled a resolution setting the salaries for 2024.

• Adopted the 2024 trash collection and sewer fee schedule resolution.

• On a 6-0 vote, with an abstention from Councilwoman Autumn Abelovsky, approved a resolution setting the police pension contribution rate for 2024.

• Agreed to purchase a used Volvo L70 loader bucket from Highway Equipment & Supply Co. in Drums for $7,827.

• Agreed to purchase/install a Western 102-inch straight plow from West End Equipment for $7,050.

• Agreed to list the Public Works F250 plow for sale.

• Tabled discussion on the 2024 residential rental inspection fee schedule.

• Approved a request from All Saints Episcopal Church for a handicap parking space.

• Approved the request to allow the Lehighton Downtown Initiative to hold the Hometown Vintage Christmas on Dec. 14.

• Agreed to hold interviews for municipal engineering proposals at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 30 and Feb. 1.
