A woman was injured Sunday afternoon in a crash along Maury Road in Penn Forest Township.

The crash occurred at 1:30 p.m. as the female was traveling south near the entrance to Penn's Peak.She failed to negotiate a left curve in the roadway, entering the right berm, where her car hit and snapped off a utility pole.Her car continued on, coming to rest back on the roadway. The victim was treated at the scene and transported to an area hospital.Maury Road was closed for a period of time then opened for alternating traffic. State police at Lehighton are investigating the incident.
