Tamaqua veterans receive diplomas

Two Tamaqua veterans received special honors this Veterans Day, as Tamaqua Area School District officials presented them with their high school diplomas. Terry Snyder, 65, and Joe Clausius, 63, dropped out of high school to enlist in the military and fought in the Vietnam War. The presentation was made during the Tamaqua Area High School's Veterans Dayprogram on Tuesday. Snyder served with the U.S. Marine Corps from 1967 to 1972, while Clausius served with the U.S. Army from 1968-1970. Also taking part in the ceremony were Dale Kline of the Quakake American Legion, Tamaqua Superintendent Carol Makuta; and back row: Thomas McCabe, TAHS assistant principal; Principal Stephen Toth; and LarryWittig, president of the Tamaqua Area School board of directors.
