Toys for Tots

The annual Marine Toys for Tots Foundation is about to begin their annual collection of toys for children.The Schuylkill-Carbon Marine Corps League will hold registration on the following dates: Nov. 13, 15, 21 and 22 and Dec. 5 and 6. These dates are Fridays and Saturdays. It will take place at the Salem Bible Fellowship Church, 1105 Frederick's Grove Road, Lehighton, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. This is the only registration location in Carbon County. No phone calls will be accepted.To ensure that a family is eligible for Toys for Tots, there must be a letter from your church, proof of public assistance or proof of employment. Only parents or legal guardians are permitted to register children.The person registering the children must have ID for themselves.In addition, legal guardians must have proof of guardianship and have a current local resident photo ID to prove residence in Carbon County.A birth certificate is required for each child being registered.The age limit is 14 years, 16 for handicapped children.
