Lehigh Township police are investigating a crash which occurredMonday afternoon along Route 248. The crash happened at 2:30 p.m. near the intersection with Aspen Road. The driver of a Sunny Ambulance unit apparently lost control while driving east near the intersection in Berlinsville. The unit entered the right berm, traveling across a large lawn of a community park, narrowly missing a wood structure and a high chain link fence before snapping off a large wooden utility pole with a light. The unit went back onto the roadway and came to rest on the berm. A patient on the rig was transferred to the Northern Valley ambulance to continue his transport.
