Monroe County moved into the 20th century, according to Warden Bryan Hill, after the new $12 million Monroe County prison in Hamilton Township was dedicated.

James E. Cadue, chairman of the Monroe County Commissioners and president of the board of prison inspectors, welcomed the crowd of over 200 residents who attended the dedication ceremonies.Cadue said the construction of the Monroe County facility marks a new phase of corrections for the county."It's up to the Monroe County Commissioners to support it."
