The Lehigh Township Police Department will be participating in Kmart's annual Safety Awareness Weekend from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

At that time, Lehigh Township Police will be providing child safety ID kits from Digikids, an industry leader in providing valuable information for a parent in case a child becomes lost or missing.The first 50 ID kits will be free.The department will also be conducting free car seats inspections for all child safety restraint seats at the store, located at 400 Best Ave, Walnutport. The inspection is conducted with no questions asked to help assist parents and caregivers in proper installation and fitting of child restraint seats.These free benefits were made possible through sponsorship by Susquehanna Bank, Cherryville.Children should also keep an eye out for a special visit from McGruff the Crime Dog.
