Tamaqua board reviews projects

Tamaqua's Historical and Architectural Review Board approved one application and denied two during a meeting Monday night:

Pencor, 200 E. Broad St., requested to remove existing vertical wood siding and replace it with red brick to match the existing appearance of the building. The board denied the application based on lack of additional project information.Joseph Berezwick, 253 West Rowe St., requested to enclose an existing rear porch, which presently has three sides, by adding an exterior wall which would be viewable from Lafayette Street. The board denied the application based on lack of additional project information.Jeff Kunkel, 228 High St., requested to build a 17- by 14-foot wood deck which would face Van Gelder Street. The board recommended to approve the project.The applicants who were not approved must reapply for approval through the zoning officer.
