There will be a special Eldred Township public meeting, 7 p.m., Monday, June 23 at the Kunkletown Volunteer Fire Co.

Pleasant Valley School District offered Eldred Township the opportunity to buy the Eldred Elementary School for $1 with a deadline of June 5.At the last supervisors' meeting, which was held on June 4, the supervisors voted to not accept the offer, saying that they did not have enough time to make an informed decision and also citing the cost of maintenance.The school district came back with an extended deadline, giving the township an opportunity to hold a public meeting to give residents a chance to offer their input, due to the expressed interest of many of the township's citizens, to see if there would be any suggestions as to what the school could be used for.
