A Tamaqua man will be cited following a domestic dispute in the borough on April 20.
Officers were dispatched to 118 Schuylkill Ave. at 10:59 p.m. for a reported domestic incident in progress. As officers were responding, they were redirected to 120 Schuylkill Ave., where the alleged victim was sheltering with neighbors. The victim told officers she had been arguing with Daniel Palmer, 24, when he grabbed her wrists and then pushed her. She did not want to press charges, just wanted the officers to make Palmer leave her alone for the rest of the night.Palmer wouldn't allow officers to enter his home without a search warrant and indicated the reported victim "was crazy and we didn't get into a fight."Officers then went back to speak to the victim, who elected to go home. She was escorted by police. At that point, Palmer noted "there would be no more problems."At 12:01 a.m., Palmer contacted the Schuylkill County Communications Center, claiming he had been falsely accused of a crime and was willing to speak with police.Officers returned to the home and spoke with Palmer, who agreed to go somewhere else for the night. He will be cited under the domestic violence laws.
