National Penn Bancshares Inc. announced that Christy Glass has been named senior vice president and human resources manager for National Penn. She will report to Steve Bell, executive vice president and human resources director.

Glass will be responsible for driving human resource solutions that enable business performance. She will lead a team of professionals in proactively supporting staff in developing and delivering services that attract, develop and retain employees. Her team will focus on activities such as staffing, employee engagement, talent development, performance optimization and change management.Glass, who resides in Reading, has 15 years of human resource experience with seven in the financial service industry. Before joining National Penn, she most recently served as the human resources manager for VIST Bank. Glass earned her associate's degree from York College and bachelor's degree in human resources from Alvernia University.
