Carbon County Commissioners
The Carbon County Commissioners acted on the following items during their weekly meeting last week.
• Advertise for bids for the demolition and clearing of 135-139 N. First St., Lehighton. The project is using Community Development Block Grant funds from years 2020, 2021 and 2022.
• Authorized the advertisement seeking proposals from firms or people interested in the lease of the beach food and refreshment concession stand at Mauch Chunk Lake Park.
• Reappointed Dr. Justin Cunfer of Lehighton and Roger Shoenberger of Palmerton to four-year terms on the Conservation District board; as well as Commissioner Wayne Nothstein to a one-year term.
• Appointed Shakira Green of Lehighton to the unexpired term on the Carbon County Housing Authority, expiring Dec. 31, 2025. The vacancy was created by the passing of Barbara Romano.
• Approved an agreement with In-Synch RMS Systems for a records management system to allow automatic synchronization, integrated data sharing and investigative tools and customer service in the district attorney’s office at a total cost of $10,785.
• Approved a quote from Tyler Technologies Inc. for a time and attendance software at a one time cost of $31,590 and a reoccurring fee of $21,402 in the fiscal/data processing office.
• Approved a change order for the Lehighton Senior Center roof replacement project, increasing the contract $6,250 for a new price of $76,690.60.
• Approved a fee schedule with Infocon Corporation of Edensburg, for tax claim printing services of annual notices as required by the state Real Estate Tax Sale Law. Services include processing of electronic certified mail, allowing for postal discounts and identifies forwarding addresses of taxpayers. The total estimated cost is $5,815.79.
• Adopted an amendment increasing the repository bid deposit fee for the county tax claim bureau at a fee of $250 per bid, per property, effective Jan. 15.
