The Carbon County Commissioners acted on or discussed the following items during their weekly meeting on Thursday:
• Announced no bids were received for a parcel of land on Center Avenue in Jim Thorpe that the county owns and had put out to bid.
• Approved a grant application for the 2023-2024 County Adult Probation and Parole Grant in the amount of $60,635. The money is used for the improvement of adult probation services through the reimbursement of eligible salaries of professional staff.
• Approved the advertisements relative to the 2024 county budget. The board plans to unveil the proposed spending plan during the Oct. 26 meeting.
• Ratified a quote from GovConnection Inc. of Merrimack, New Hampshire for vigilance respond 24/7 managed detection and response SentinelOne antivirus for one year at a cost of $7,697.56.

• Resignations: John Barile Jr. of Jim Thorpe, maintenance II, buildings and grounds, effective Oct. 27; and Chad S. Muffley Sr. of Andreas, corrections officer, effective Oct. 16.
• Hires: Marisa Courtney of Albrightsville, seasonal election worker, effective Oct. 23; and Shehreyar Khan of Allentown, IT specialist, effective Oct. 23.
• Prison Board appointment: Brandon J. Parramore of Nesquehoning, corrections officer, effective Oct. 23.
