Panther Valley School Board conducted the following business:
• Approved the job description for school psychologist/assistant special education director and hired Lanae McKelvey to the position effective immediately at a salary of $90,000 a year.
• Accepted the resignations of Lisa Macalush, a paraprofessional, effective Nov. 3; Seth Berk, a maintenance person, effective Oct. 20; Elizabeth Saxon, special education teacher, effective Jan. 22, and Laura Faenza, cafeteria worker, effective Sept. 20.
• Appointed Donna Gott as a part-time general worker at the intermediate school at a rate of $17.39 an hour.
• Hired Brian Sook as a full-time school police officer, effective Sept. 20, at a salary of $28 an hour.
• Approved conferences totaling $1,683 for Scott Fisher and Pamela Brubaker, and three-credit courses for teachers Hannah Mordaunt and Mary Kate Imossi.
• Approved a letter of support for a gaming grant application that the Summit Hill Historical Society and the Summit Hill Borough will seek.
• Paid bills totaling $3,151,037, cafeteria fund bills totaling $88,841, and purchasing card bills totaling $20,712.
• Approved fall workers Danny Blazosky, fill-in, and Ashley Schirer, score book keeper, at $30 an event.
• Approved the Class of 2024 All Night Party.
• Approved volunteers/chaperones effective immediately: Samantha Washousky, Melissa Miller, Amanda Green, Heather O’Gurek, Victoria Frace, Jaime D’Errico, Jessie Sweeney, Caitlin Tongue, Nicole Weaver, Michael Tatusko.
• Approved the Panther Valley Health and Safety Plan for 2023-24.
• Approved policies on supplemental discipline records, students experiencing homelessness, and local meetings.
• Approved board members Michael Alabovitz and Pat Leonzi as co-alternate representatives on the CCTI Joint Operating Committee.
