PennDOT officials say that construction is progressing as planned near the Route 248 cantilever, where a rockslide last week forced the early closure of the upper deck.

Workers today completed a crossover to be used beginning next Monday when the east and westbound lanes are both channeled through the lower deck of the cantilever. Testing and preliminary work in the rocky mountainside will also begin on that date.
