Carbon County Commissioners acted on or discussed the following items during their weekly meeting on Thursday.
• Lucy Freck of Save Carbon County spoke about meetings that are expected to be held regarding farming and the use of biosolids as fertilizer.
• Jill Geissinger, director of Children and Youth Services, provided an update about the department’s request for 2024-2025 budget. A hearing outlining the budget was held on Tuesday.
• Approved a human services non-block grant plan for the 2023-2024 state fiscal year for Carbon County’s Human Services Development Fund and Homeless Assistance Plan programs totaling $77,359.

• Employment separation: Connor D. Resto of Nesquehoning, corrections officer, effective Sept. 1.
• Resignation: Kissy Rosado-Martinez of Bushkill, county caseworker II, Children and Youth, effective Sept. 12; Tyler J. Berger of Nesquehoning, IT specialist, court computer information systems, effective Sept. 11.
