$20,000 in COVID grants available for Schuylkill Co. groups

Schuylkill County firefighters, emergency medical crews, veterans’ organizations and other nonprofit service groups have until Oct. 31 to submit their applications for up to $20,000 in grant money from the Schuylkill County Nonprofit COVID-19 Response Grant Program.

Applications must be postmarked by Oct. 31.

Organizations must complete an eligibility survey online at www.nepa-alliance.org/schuylkill-county-covid-19-response/

Eligible nonprofits will be emailed a link to upload an application package.

Schuylkill commissioners in July agreed to extend funding for up to $500,000 to create the Schuylkill County Nonprofit COVID-19 Response Grant Program to assist eligible 501(c)(3), tax exempt nonprofit and 501(c) 19 groups that have operated for at least four years in the county and experienced increased service demands or financial hardships during the coronavirus pandemic.

The program, administered by the NEPA Alliance, opened on Sept. 7 and uses the county’s $27.4 million share of American Rescue Plan Act funds.
