The West Penn Township Fire Co. No. 1 August report was accepted Tuesday by township supervisors.
During the month, the fire company had 21 calls; three motor vehicle crashes; seven reports of wires down; two medical assists; two fire police calls; two vehicle fires; two special requests, and one each of landing zone, chief request and structure fire.
Firefighters had a host of trainings for driving, air pack usage, equipment, ladders and hoses on a number of days over the month.
“It’s amazing that these people do all this stuff,” board Chairman Tony Prudenti said. “They are not paid. They are just doing it to protect our community.”
