Walnutport Borough Council, on a 6-0 vote, recently took the following action:

• Approved a resolution for the Monroe County Local Share Account Grant for emergency equipment.

• Approve a resolution for the Northampton & Lehigh County Local Share Account Grant for emergency equipment.

• Approved the 2024 financial requirement and minimum municipal obligation police, $125,953, and nonuniform, $13,600.

• Agreed to advertise an amendment to the ordinance concerning parking on the 600-700 block of Williams Avenue to make it no parking from the intersection of Williams Avenue and New Street to Williams Avenue and Birch Street, east side, and from the intersection of Williams Avenue and Birch Street to Williams Avenue and South Lehigh Gap Street, west side.

• Agreed to terminate a contract concerning bank registry with ProChamps, and to authorize the borough solicitor to send a notice that the contract has been terminated. It was stated that ProChamps has filed for bankruptcy. ProChamps would keep track of things such as properties in foreclosure, mortgage issues, and property addresses.

• Approved schooling for Sgt. Jason Nothstein to attend DUI conferences at a cost of $700.

• Ratified a motion needed to allow C. Miller to do residential rentals for July and August while the code enforcement officer is on leave.
