The Pottsville attorney who has helped guide Schuylkill County officials for more than a decade is leaving the job.
First Assistant Solicitor/Risk Manager Glenn T. Roth Jr. submitted his resignation; his last day will be Sept. 1.
Roth started as the county’s assistant solicitor on July 3, 2012.
He is taking a job in Gov. Josh Shapiro’s Office of General Counsel, Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, starting Sept. 5.
“I’ll miss all of the great people I have had the privilege of working with the past 11 years,” he said.
Roth has advised county officials on a variety of matters, including real estate and insurance.
He is among several county officials named in a 2021 federal lawsuit filed by four courthouse workers who accuse Commissioner George F. Halcovage Jr. of sexual harassment.
Roth, along with former human resources directors and the county administrator, was named in the part of the suit alleging retaliation and discrimination. All of those named in the suit have refuted the allegations.
The suit continues to wend its way through U.S. District Court, Scranton.
