Franklin Township approved a bid for seal coating on various roads in the township at Tuesday night's meeting.

Bids for the project were advertised for June 3 and 6 with a deadline just a few hours before the meeting. Asphalt Maintenance Solutions LLC provided the only bid for the job.It covers 32,741 square yards of a single bituminous seal coat on Green Street, Briar Street and two locations on Hemlock Street.The bid is for $1.33 per square yard, totaling $43,521.59 for all four sections to be sealed.The township's budget for the project was $50,000.The start date for seal coating will soon be determined, but the township plans to be finished by July 30.In other business, supervisors presented the annual check to Bruce Wolfe, fire chief, representing the Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Company.Franklin Township was also approved for an extension on the establishment of two pavilions at Phifer's baseball field, which had an original end date of May 27.
