Witches’ Market to be held in Lehighton

A fall-themed event scheduled in Lehighton has already generated a massive online following.

Tina Henninger, owner of Wine & More on 1st, told borough council last week her business will host a Witches’ Midnight Market event.

The event, scheduled for Oct. 28, is a vendor fair in which about 1,700 people are expected to attend, Henninger said.

“The downtown desperately needs it,” Henninger said.

Henninger said there will be vendors set up inside various businesses along the downtown.

She said the plan is for them to dress up and meet that day at 5 p.m. in the borough’s Lower Park.

From there, Henninger said they will start the Witches’ Walk from the fountain to the shop to open the Market, from 6 p.m. to midnight.

Councilwoman Autumn Abelovsky cautioned that the event already has such a huge following that the town cannot hold as many people who have expressed their interest in attending.
