Monroe County commissioners

Monroe County Commissioners approved the following:

• Overtime – Tax Claim Office, 5 hours; Sheriff’s Office: clerks, 7.25 hours; security – 27.75 hours; deputies – 28.5 hours;

• Electronic financial transactions – vouchers: $1,043,080.37 for the week ending July 21; $1,888,407.94 for July 28; gross payroll: $1,378,393.14 for July 16; healthcare benefits payments: Highmark Blue Cross/Blue Shield, $46,564.46 on July 18; $99,375.48 on July 25; Geisinger, $83,742.21 and $7,898.83, both on July 17; $74,731.82 on July 25; dental claims total, $16,626.90;

• Area Agency on Aging – addendum to the provider contracts for the period July 1 through June 30, 2024: HL Home Care Agency, $19 per hour, and CareSphere LLC, RX Home Health Services Inc. doing business as RX Home Care Inc., $22 per hour, both for personal care and home support; professional service contract with Linda Steier, MS, RD LDN, $58 per hour to provide dietitian consultation services to the agency; Personal Care/Home Support Services contract with Goodwill Healthcare Inc., $19.85 from July 1 through June 30, 2026.

• Monroe County Children & Youth Services (period of July 1 through June 30, 2024) – Contract for proposed professional services with PA Treatment & Healing for $320,000; Family Care for Children and Youth Inc., $85,000; Valley Youth House, $75,000; Merakey Pennsylvania, $500,000; Deversified Treatment Alternative Centers, $500,000; Pentz Run Youth Services Inc., $145,000; Adelphi Village Inc., $600,000; Bethany Home Inc., doing business as Bethany Children’s Home, $100,000; Concern, $200,000; Children’s Home of York, $130,000; Child Welfare Education for Leadership agreements with the University of Pittsburgh to allow the following caseworkers to earn their graduate degree in social work with a commitment to work at the agency for a specified period of time after graduation: Alysanne Makenzi Fortune and Jamie Lynne Amoroso;

• District Attorney Office: Approve the PA Gaming Control Board Local Law Enforcement grant (one year) in the amount of $250,000 to be used to identify, enforce and prosecute activities involving unlawful gambling;

• Monroe County Career Link: Reappoint the following to the Pocono Counties Workforce Development Board: Debra Raneri, Higher Education, Adult Education & Adult Literacy representative and Vicki Herman, Manufacturing Business representative, both for terms from July 1 to June 30, 2026; appoint the Pocono Counties Workforce Development Board, Eric Noone, a private sector business representative and Michelle Bisbing, Economic and Community Development Sector representative, both from July 1 to June 30, 2027;

• Capital outlay purchases – Ratify the purchase reports both dated July 27 totaling $13,039.47 for a heat pump for the Tax Assessment office and cubicles for register reporters, and $1,557.46 for a bullet proof vest for the Sheriff’s Office and shelving for Information Technology.
