Bowmanstown Borough Council took the following action on Tuesday:

• Announced that Benesch Engineering submitted the multimodal transportation fund grant application for Lincoln Avenue reconstruction; cost estimate is $571,038.

• Hired Donald Doyle as a public works employee at $13.50 an hour. After 90 days, he will receive $14 an hour.

• Agreed to extend employee Tom Kern’s probation for 90 days; he will receive a $.50 an hour raise.

• Announced that 536 Ore St. will go for Sheriff’s Sale on Aug. 9, and that all documentation has been submitted to the sheriff’s office.

• Approved an equipment rental agreement with the Borough of Palmerton for the rental of Palmerton’s Vac-Con truck at $145 per hour. If it runs into overtime hours, the cost is $165.

• Agreed to provide assistance at intersections in the borough where the third annual Back the Blue Ride will travel through on Aug. 12.
