State police at Lehighton are investigating the theft of a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 truck that was discovered missing on Tuesday.

Police said they were called to a property on Syracuse Lane in Polk Township for a theft that happened between 3 p.m. Monday and 7:38 a.m. Tuesday.

A 45-year-old man from Kunkletown and a 47-year-old man from Bath reported the theft.

They said the vehicle is black.

Police said someone damaged a padlock and impound lot security gate/fence during the theft, with damages estimated at $250.

In an unrelated incident, police said a license plate was stolen off a 2015 Dodge Ram 3500 truck along Pheasant Run Road in Chestnuthill Township between midnight July 18 and 12:27 a.m. Tuesday.

A 65-year-old woman and a 74-year-old man, both from Effort, reported the theft.
