A detour remains in effect in Tamaqua on Spruce Street between South Railroad and South Center streets for resurfacing of the roadway. However, traffic to the Tamaqua Transfer Station and Tamaqua Municipal Sewage Treatment Plant is allowed to proceed. The project is being funded through a cost-sharing arrangement between the borough and Blue Mountain, Northern and Reading Railroad.
