Summit Hill Heritage Center announces upcoming activities

The following events will be taking place this month at the Summit Hill Heritage Center at 1 W. Hazard St. in Summit Hill:

• Summit Hill Heritage Center Board of Directors Meeting will be at 7 p.m. today. Members and the public are welcome.• Fall Free Lecture Series will be held at 7 p.m. Friday.• Red, White & Blue Labor Day Flea Market will be from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. Featuring kids clothing, gently used adult clothing, gift items, homemade jelly, crocheted items for sale and by order, jewelry, and much more. New vendors are welcome. Kitchen is open from 8 a.m. Call Cathy at 570-645-5888 for information and to reserve tables.• Beginners Jewelry Class will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 9, 16, 23, and 30. There is a fee per session plus cost of equipment and beads.• Hilltop Support Group will meet at 2 p.m. on Sept. 13. Meetings will be every second Sunday except for December to February. The center is accessible via the ramp.• An evening with Keith Brintzenhoff Pennsylvania German Music, Dance and Instruments will start at 6 p.m. Sept. 18. Through dance, songs and stories, audiences explore the traditions of Pennsylvania German music and dance. Dressed in authentic attire, Keith Brintzenhoff begins with a brief history of these rich traditions.He also performs and explains the roles that the guitar, harmonica, mountain dulcimer, banjo and autoharp play in Pennsylvania German music. Participants are taught to hoedown, as well as the fancy footwork of jigging. Free to the public. Please bring a nonperishable food item for our pantry.• Adult Drink and Dabble Coal Cracker's Paint & Sip will be at 6 p.m. on Sept. 23.
