AMVETS announce winners of Americanism contests

Lehighton AMVETS Post 106 presented awards to the winners of the Americanism contests held this year. The contest was open to all third and seventh graders in the Lehighton Area School District. The topic for this year's contest was: "Why It is Important to Vote." The winners of the Lehighton AMVETS Post 106 Americanism Contests have been announced. Third grade Poster Contest winners are: first place, Hailey Long, $50, Shull David Elementary School; second place, Ronald Snyder, $30, Mahoning Elementary School; third place, Callie Hayman, $20, Mahoning Elementary School. Seventh Grade Essay Contest: first place, Felicia Sue Anthony, $50; second place, Gregory Venuto, $30. Both winners were from Lehighton Area Middle School.
