Fire companies from Trachsville in Towamensing and Aquashicola in Lower Towamensing townships responded to a field fire Tuesday afternoon along Snyders Road, about a mile east of Forest Inn Road.

When they arrived on scene just after 4 p.m. they found not only a field on fire but a combine as well.

A unit of the Bureau of Forestry responded as well. Firefighters were on scene about an hour extinguishing the fire in the field and thoroughly going through the various components of the large combine.
