Attorney General Kathleen G. Kane's office today announced the arrest of a Pennsylvania man accused of posting an online advertisement for sex and then traveling to Lehigh County for a sexual encounter with a person he believed was a 13-year-old girl.
According to the criminal complaint, agents with the Office of Attorney General's Child Predator Section were operating undercover posing as a 13-year-old girl. They responded to an advertisement that David M. Chandler, Telford Borough, posted online.
The charges state that Chandler, 42, sent sexually explicit messages indicating he wanted a "sex slave." Agents allege Chandler expressed a desire to meet with the girl in order to engage in sexual contact.
Chandler was arrested Wednesday when he arrived at a pre-determined location in Lehigh County. He is charged with two counts of unlawful contact with a minor and one count each of criminal attempt to commit involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, criminal attempt to commit aggravated indecent assault and criminal use of a communication facility.
Chandler is currently confined to the Lehigh County Prison in lieu of $100,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is tentatively set for Jan. 13.
Attorney General Kane thanked the Upper Macungie Police Department for its assistance with Chandler's arrest.
