Jim Thorpe Area School Board voted 6-1 tonight to rescind a 50 cents an hour raise given last month to the cafeteria workers.

Gerald Strubinger, who proposed the raise last month, cast the lone dissenting vote.

There are eight cafeteria workers in the district, all members of the Teamsters union. Three of the workers attended the meeting.

The situation will be referred to the district's policy committee.
