Night of Unity brings people together

The recent annual Night of Unity at Pleasant Valley High School in Brodheadsville brought together a multitude of people from local businesses, libraries, churches and historical venues.

"I always enjoy seeing the next generation of students, and students from prior years who return with their own children," John Gress, principal of Pleasant Valley High School said. "I enjoy the diversity it brings."Pleasant Valley High School staff member Meghan Feliciani said the program brings awareness about the HOPE initiative, an anti-bullying program that began four years ago."The great thing about this program," she said, "is that it gives empowerment to the students, and there's no fee, or pressure, just come anytime you feel like making a difference."This year, there are approximately 200 high school students participating in the HOPE initiative.First-grade students from Pleasant Valley Elementary put on a concert. One mother, Donna DeYoung, said, "Seeing my son shine and at his best was amazing, and it filled my heart."
