The Lehighton fire department responded to 220 Carbon St. in Lehighton after a report of a possible chimney fire in the residence.

Firefighters raised a ladder to the chimney of the double block wood frame single family dwelling.

Lehighton fire police maintained traffic control at the scene.

The American Red Cross said it is helping five people who have been displaced by the fire.
