"Roll Out the Barrel" and "Beer Barrel Polka" may not be at the top of the list insofar as contemporary hit tunes are concerned, but the fact remains that ye olde beer barrel was indeed rolling in Carbon County last year.

At least this would seem to be the "case" (or perhaps we should say barrel), if records of the State Liquor Control Board are to be accepted as a guide.Those records show that beer distributors in the county purchased 22,843 barrels of brew for dispensing to sippers of grog in the Carbon County area. The sales included 19,121 half barrels and 3,722 quarter barrels.Incidentally, in 1975, 25,016 barrels rolled down the ramps in the county.
