A new industry in Lansford will employ about 100 people, according to a report from the Panther Valley Chamber of Commerce, whose president is Sandra Delpero of Lansford.Sheila Ann Sportswear Inc., which is hiring operators of all types for year-round employment, has located at Coal and Bertsch streets, a building formerly occupied by Lansford Casuals.Edward B. Michalik of Summit Hill said that 20 women are presently employed and that the firm plans to fill about 80 more jobs. Jerry Schleppy of Bethlehem is the manager of the plant while Margaret Halko of Lansford is the supervisor.
