A Beaver Meadows man was sentenced to a county prison term Thursday after previously pleading guilty to five criminal charges.

He had previously entered pleas before Judge Joseph J. Matika.Stephen A. Maguschak, 25, was sentenced to serve a total of one day less 12 to one day less 24 months in prison on the five charges followed by one year of probation.He was arrested by Beaver Meadows police for an incident on May 13, 2014, at three locations in the borough.Jewelry was taken in one incident and attempted thefts occurred in the others.He had pleaded to three counts of criminal conspiracy-theft and two counts of criminal trespass.Maguschak told the court he has drug, mental health and physical health issues.He said he is getting some counseling for the drug issues. He also has charges pending in Luzerne County.He was also ordered to get both drug and alcohol and mental health evaluations, zero tolerance for drug and alcohol use, supply a DNA sample, render 100 hours of community service when paroled and make total restitution of $2,490.He was given credit for 497 days spent in prison on the charges and paroled. He still must face the charges in Luzerne County.
