The American Red Cross Bloodmobile will return to Tamaqua on Wednesday, July 18. The Tamaqua Salvation Army gym will be turned into a blood collection center, which will be open from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Anyone 17 or older, who weighs at least 110 pounds and is in good general health is eligible to donate blood. A mini health history will be done at the time of donation to further determine eligibility status.The blood supply across the United States has reached critically low levels. While there is a shortage of all blood types, there is an emergency need for O negative, O positive, A negative and A positive blood types.This visit is being sponsored by City Limits Bakery of Tamaqua. All donors will receive a coupon for a free carton of Friendly's ice cream.
