Party-goer shot overnight in Bethlehem, chief says

A man Saturday evening was shot in the leg after a dispute during a party in Bethlehem, Police Chief Mark DiLuzio said.

City officers were dispatched at about 11:30 p.m. to the 100 block of West Goepp Street for a report of shots fired and people screaming in the street. About 30 people -- all young adults -- were found outside a home, in which a party was taking place, DiLuzio said.An unknown dispute led to one male party-goer being shot in the leg, the chief said."We're not sure what led to the altercation," DiLuzio said. "It's still too early. Detectives are investigating."The male victim was taken to St. Luke's University Hospital in Fountain Hill and injuries were unknown Sunday. No arrests have been made as police continue to investigate. The 30 people were detained and questioned, but information provided was minimal, police said."These are very young adults," DiLuzio said. "And there's not a lot of cooperation."Pamela Sroka-Holzmann may be reached at pholzmann
