U.S. News & World Report has ranked The University of Scranton No. 6 in its 2017 edition of the "Best Colleges" guidebook for the "Best Regional Universities in the North."

This is the 23rd consecutive year the college has made the top 10.The publication also recognized the university's for-credit Service Learning program run in conjunction with a class, and rated the institution No. 2 in its category for "2017 Best Colleges for Veterans."The publication bases its rankings on a range of indicators including peer assessment of academic excellence; graduation and freshman retention; faculty resources; student selectivity; financial resources; and graduation performance rates.
