Indians, Tigers get boys soccer wins

The Lehighton boys soccer team posted an impressive win over North Schuylkill on Wednesday.

Northwestern’s boys soccer and field hockey teams also picked up victories, as did the Palmerton girls soccer team.

BOYS SOCCER

North Schuylkill-Lehighton

Lehighton blanked North Schuylkill for a 4-0 Schuylkill League victory.

Drew Lorenz paced the Indians with two goals, while Isaiah Everett followed with a goal and two assists. Dan Sharp added a goal and an assist.

Indians keeper Zach Andrew grabbed five saves and the shutout win.

Saucon Vy.-Northwestern

Northwestern handed Saucon Valley its first loss of the season with a 2-0 Colonial League win.

Caleb Danner led the Tigers with a goal and an assist, while Sam Seyfried added a score.

Northwestern remains unbeaten in league play at 3-0, while Saucon Valley slips to 3-1.

Southern Lehigh shutout Northern Lehigh for a 3-0 Colonial League win.

Cam McColgan, Nate Himmelspach and John Kerr posted the Spartans’ scores, while Jacob Nelson was credited with an assist.

Bulldog keeper Logan Dyer recorded seven saves.

Wilson-Palmerton

Wilson used four first-half goals to cruise to a 6-0 Colonial League victory over Palmerton.

Tajoe Turner led the Warriors with two goals, while Lorenzo Sigue, Alejandro Calderon, Jack Miller and Alex Almonte also found the back of the net.

Wilson-Northwestern

Rachel Koerner’s two goals sparked Northwestern to a 3-1 Colonial League win over Wilson.

The Tigers’ Brynn Balliet chipped in with a score, while Sydney Derr, Kenzie Mosebach and Tess Ledeboer all were credited with assists.

Northwestern improved to 3-0 in the league, while Wilson falls to 2-2.

GIRLS SOCCER

Palmerton-Wilson

Palmerton rolled to a 5-2 Colonial League victory over Wilson.

Carissa Fallon, Mia Fantasia, Lauren Rehrig, Madison Martinez and Madison Balliet all scored goals for the Bombers.

Bombers’ (1-1) keeper Kyla Brown finished with five saves.

Northwestern-Saucon Vy.

In a battle of unbeatens, Saucon Valley edged Northwestern for a 3-2 Colonial League win.

Maggie Motolese scored both Tigers’ goals, while Sara Hathaway and Lexi Bleam were credited with assists.

The Panthers’ goals were scored by Sophia Riehl, Lauren Giles and Kiele Riefenstahl.

Tigers’ keeper Lauren Terrell recorded 12 saves.

Southern Lehigh ran away with an 11-2 Colonial League victory over Northern Lehigh.

Kaya Mobley led the Spartans’ offensive with four goals, while Taylor Graver and Kaylin Frederick both added two goals apiece.

Kate Yesik recorded the Bulldogs’ lone goal.

Northern Lehigh slips to 0-4 in league play, while Southern Lehigh remains unbeaten at 4-0.

Mahanoy Area swept Marian 25-21, 25-17, 25-17.

Macie Mazalusky had 13 digs and eight kills for the Fillies. Alivia Karchner added four kills, three digs and three blocks, while Tatianna Zeleniak dished out 17 assists.
