Lehighton has agreed to increase the daily admission fee for non-county residents to use its pool.
On a unanimous vote, borough council on Monday approved the price adjustment at the recommendation of Tom Evans, recreation director.As a result, the new rates for out of county residents will be $15 for adults, and $10 for children. The previous rates were $7 for adults and $5 for children.Council President Grant Hunsicker said the pool over the summer received an overflow of visitors during instances when they were turned away from Beltzville due to overcrowding.Councilman Scott Rehrig added, "They aren't even residents of Carbon County."Council also approved the purchase of a new computer system and server for the borough's Utility Billing office in the amount of $8,877.
