Mako wins 183rd District, taking over for Harhart

Republican Zach Mako won the 183rd Legislative District seat and will be taking over for Julie Harhart, who is retiring.

Mako, won with 17,068 votes over Democrat Phillips Armstrong who garnered 12,311 votes.The 183rd Legislative District includes, in Lehigh County, the townships of South Whitehall (districts 5, 6 and 8), Washington and Whitehall (districts 7, 10 and 11) and the Borough of Slatington; and in Northampton County, the townships of Allen, Lehigh, Moore (Beersville and Klecknersville districts) and the boroughs of North Catasauqua, Northampton and Walnutport.Mako told the Lehigh Valley Press, "As a lifelong resident of the 183rd District, I believe taxpayers deserve someone who will look out for them, which is why I support eliminating our property taxes and standing up to Gov. Wolf's radical tax-and-spend agenda. I will work to make our business environment more attractive so we can attract more jobs to the area."
