A man was struck by a vehicle Wednesday afternoon along Scenic Drive, (Route 534) in Polk township

The incident occurred about 3:15 p.m. as the gentleman was attempting to cross the roadway from his home to his mailbox doing so he was struck by a younger male operating the vehicle.

Medics at the scene requested an air medical transport which was denied due to the weather.

State police at Lehighton are investigating the incident.
